SEO agencies for cleaning companies

Domestic cleaning, end-of-lease work and commercial contracts have different economics and buying processes. A useful SEO strategy makes these differences clear so the business receives enquiries it can service at a sustainable price.

Where to start

Choose the priority between recurring homes, end-of-lease jobs, specialist cleaning and commercial contracts. Define coverage and minimum job requirements before expanding the content.

Use this guide to brief and compare SEO agencies. The examples below are planning prompts, not measured keyword volumes or a forecast of rankings.

What to include in your agency brief

  • Separate domestic and commercial enquiry routes with service-specific questions.
  • Clear service inclusions and exclusions, reviewed whenever packages change.
  • A reporting process that identifies first bookings, repeat customers and new recurring contracts.

Give the agency access to existing performance data and a list of services, areas and job types you want to grow. Ask it to explain which pages it would improve first, what your team must supply and how work will be approved.

Measure the work that matters

Report first bookings, repeat bookings, cancellations and recurring contract value. Track enquiries for employment separately from customers. Evaluate acquisition costs against realistic retention and delivery costs rather than headline contract revenue alone.

Agree the baseline before work starts. Keep website search, Google Business Profile activity and paid advertising distinguishable in the report. Record attribution gaps honestly. A phone-button click or a submitted form is an interaction; it becomes a qualified lead only when the business checks it.

Avoid this common mistake

Do not promise bond returns or outcomes controlled by landlords or property managers. Avoid using one broad cleaning page for unrelated services with different scope and booking requirements.

Evidence to investigate

Agencies with published sector evidence

These are starting points based on the public sources linked below, checked on 11 October 2026. A service offering is weaker evidence than a comparable client case. Inclusion is not a sector ranking, a guarantee of suitability or independent verification of results. Confirm location, availability, fees and scope directly.

How much should you spend?

Start with the economics of the work you want, then compare written proposals. Calculate the contribution left after delivering a typical job, the proportion of qualified enquiries that become customers, and the share you can afford to spend acquiring them. Use conservative assumptions; expected future repeat work is not guaranteed.

Request separate costs for the initial audit, website changes, ongoing content, reporting and any advertising. Ask who owns the website, analytics accounts and created assets. Compare scope and evidence, not only the monthly fee.

Local visibility and image discovery

Keep your business information accurate and publish genuine service and project evidence. Google describes local ranking in terms of relevance, distance and prominence; an agency cannot remove the distance between you and a customer. Use photographs you have permission to publish, meaningful captions and normal HTML images so they can be discovered.

Build location pages only when you can provide useful, distinct information about actual service coverage or projects. A repeated page with a substituted suburb name does not help a customer choose you.
